Running is my first love but I love, absolutely love trying out new classes and styles of working out. Earlier this year when Sweaty Betty launched their GetFit4Free campaign with Body By Simone I was introduced to Simone De La Rue, the founder and genius behind BBS. In the run up to BBS London, Simone was hosting a pop up and I was lucky enough to get a place.
I love this picture so much.
For those of you who don’t know or haven’t heard of BBS, it is a very fun dance cardio workout. There is choreographed jumping with a lot of laughter and fun thrown in. Simone told us that in her studios the lights are dim, the music loud, and the disco lights are on. I can just imagine how free of inhibitions dancing somewhere like that would be!
The class yesterday was in a well lit room but there was one point when Simone turned the lights off and that was brilliant fun. In between the cardio workouts there was a whole session concentrating on the bottom and core. We channeled our inner Jane Fonda, which was pretty fun!
Wen I did the Sweaty Betty GetFit4Free campaign (which is still on YouTube and can be found here) I remembered thinking how much fun Simone was as a teacher. Thrilled to report that in real life she is as fun. She made the class and the sweaty work really enjoyable and a lot of fun.
Simone is planning on coming back to London either in January or February for another popup class and I can’t wait. If you are based in London and want to try it then keep an eye on her instagram account where Simone will put up information about the next pop up class closer to the time.
