I love Waterstones and I love the events they host. This was one I couldn’t miss.
And the fact that I did get tickets is pure luck – I was on twitter at the right time and read the right tweet (thanks Waterstones Piccadilly!) This particular panel, with Jude Fisher (the author of The Visual Companion), Richard Armitage (Thorin) and Luke Evans (Bard the Bowman) was sadly only half an hour-long. But what a fun half an hour that was.
Once the talk was over we had the chance to get our Visual Companion signed by the three of them. No way was I going to miss out on that. And since I would probably never have this chance again I decided to flirt with Luke Evans and when he politely asked about my day I told him all about it. He had a sort of stunned look on his face which I am taking as a job well done.
It was only when I was leaving the store that I saw the massive Hobbiton sign by the doorway. In my haste to get a good seat I was blind to everything else.
