There are some days when things just don’t go to plan. If you live in London right now you know that there is a massive tube strike going on. Waking up early and having a 50 minute journey take two hours isn’t a good way to start the day. Or a good way to end it. It also means that during the day there is a point (usually after lunch) when your brain has had enough.
That’s it, it declares, give me a break for a few minutes. This happened to me today at around three. So I made an origami crane.
It isn’t as neat as I would like it to be and certainly not as precise as it should be but while I was making it I remembered my childhood. Both Sister and I fell in love with origami after we discovered a Japan Centre near where we live (the fact that it’s closed down makes me sad inside). We bought all sorts of origami books from there as well as paper.
It was lovely to visit my past…I wonder if there is still some origami paper at home? I hope so.
