Osaka-jo (Osaka Castle) was the highlight of the few days we spent in this city and it was where we went to last before travelling back home. In comparison to Tokyo and Kyoto it didn’t have as much to sell itself but there was one of the most impressive castles I had ever seen.
I am so used to European castles, with their dark, sombre colours and dingy interiors. Osaka-jo was nothing like that and it was so much more beautiful thanks to these stark differences.
The inside had been turned into a museum showcasing Osaka and Osaka-jo’s right history. The most exciting thing was the viewing platform at the top of the castle, with 360 degree views of Osaka.
