Until it was decided that Edinburgh was my next destination I had no idea that the city had a dormant volcano. Once I did know about it though, there was no other option but climbing it.
The day we chose to go up was beautiful, sunny, and warm – something none of us had really expected to encounter at all while we were in Scotland.
The higher we climbed the more beautiful the views. All of Edinburgh was bathed in sunshine and all of it was extra shiny, just for us.
It turns out that Arthur’s Seat is a roughhewn rock with a seat like shape. Of course we all sat in it and of course our bottoms were wedged in, so much so that I felt like I became one with the rock. Where the rock ended and I began was a mystery to everyone.
