Party like you’re Kate Spade in Shanghai

Last night Kate Spade’s Covent Garden store launched their new Shanghai collection in conjunction with Stylist Magazine. There were cocktails, canapes, free hair styling, and a raffle. I went, I saw, and I came back with new hair.

Their new collection looks amazing – in fact almost everything the store sells looks amazing. It always does, which is why it’s always very tempting to spend, spend, spend.

But first, let’s talk about hair. The stylist from Webster Whiteman undid my fishtail plait with actual relish and gave me a messy side bun. There was back combing and there was hairspray, neither of which I ever do or use. I quite like the end result but my mum and BFF were not fans. I didn’t like the way my hair felt with all that hairspray but since I will never get anything like this done again, I enjoyed being pampered.

The lychee cocktails were a hit with everyone – seriously delicious.

There were fortune cookies covered in glitter all about the place as well. Until last night did you know that I had never eaten a fortune cookie before? Ever? Movies and TV shows made it seem as if I had. I only mention this because I may have eaten the paper inside my first cookie. I was hungry and the whole thing fit into my mouth.

I LOVED the containers the cookies came in – so very cool.

I ended up taking one home just because I was quite in love with the idea of it.

The store itself was decorated beautifully, with bits from Kate Spade’s Shanghai collection scattered all over the place. I loved the little coin purse doll and this stunning necklace and the fan clutch.

And even though these shoes weren’t my favourite, who can say no to blue sparkles??

The raffle prize was this stunning bag below. Sadly I didn’t win but I did enter! Congratulations to the woman who did win – so very jealous!

That looks like so much fun. I don’t know if I’m a fan of the hair either but who cares it’s cool that you were pampered!!! What did you think of the fortune cookie? Well besides the paper fortune part.

I completely agree about the hair – I now know how to do it if I ever want to and even if it isn’t a favourite style I loved getting pampered!

I love the fortune cookie! And the glitter. And the paper. The paper made it 😉
