I do it for the bling

photo 4 (3)My medal collection is growing with the races I do and I can’t deny the fact that knowing a medal is waiting for me at the end is a huge reason to enter all these races. It does the same thing to me a certificate of participation did when I was a child. It is a mark of my achievement. And yes, I won’t come first but I finished, I beat my PB and this medal around my neck is what I have to show for it. Or course the more beautiful the medal the more excited I am to get my hands on it and since Nike started collaborating with Alex Monroe to design their finisher’s medals, they have claimed a special place in my heart.

This year marks the second year of their collaboration and images of the finisher’s medal have just been released.

I absolutely love everything about it including the pattern, which is a rarely seen Liberty print called Merlin. It’s beautiful isn’t it? I can’t wait to have this beauty around my neck.

If you want to sign up for the race and get your own hands on this beautiful medal, you can do so here. It’s a 10k run taking part in June in Victoria Park in London. I hope to see as many of you there as possible!

All images are from Nike.

Thanks, you too! I’m so glad this is on flat terrain, my last one was so hilly! Good luck for training 🙂
