Day 1 at #LFW – my highlights

London Fashion Week has begun!  As always I am loving the whole spectacle. Over the next 5 days so many designers show off their SS16 collections and there were some which I really loved.

  1. Bora Aksu

This was a very pretty, very feminine collection. Flirty, full of lace, and pastel colours I want everything from the Bora Aksu SS2016 collection. I love the length of the dresses and the transparency of them. With first glance they look demure and virginal (albeit in many different colours, not just white) but when you take a closer look you can see just how revealing they really are.

2. Felder Felder

Colour blocking, shimmery metalic fabric, and chiffon. Also long hair. All the models had long hair. Those two sentences are what I take away from the show, along with I loved it.

The dress with the long sleeves is something I really loved – to me those colours scream spring and warmer weather (I will always be bitter about how much warmth we didn’t have this year). And I love the sleeve length. Also the colour blocked trousers are another favourite.

3. Daks

Glamorous is how I would describe Daks’ collection. Marble effect fabric, long skirts, and very clean garments. Everything paid nod to the Art Deco period and the dress above is one of my favourites because of that. The deep rust is such a wonderful contrast to the monochrome too – I love it.

I can’t believe Day 1 is almost over. There are a few designers left to show their collections so I could well be adding to this list. But it has been such a brilliant Day 1 – I can’t wait for Day 2!

I know! My mum said ‘too many looks’. I completely disagree with her. There are never too many looks!
