#TrainTuesday with Nike x Psycle

Earlier today I found myself waking up before six in the morning and making my way to Canary Wharf for the latest in Nike’s series of #TrainTuesday events, this one in partnership with Psycle. For those of you who don’t know or haven’t heard of Psycle, they are a studio offering a high intensity, low impact, head to toe workout on a bike led by some of the best instructors around. Surprisingly it didn’t take me long to fall in love with spinning (while I still haven’t fallen in love with yoga) so I was very happy when I got a place in one of the sessions.

It did mean that I had to wake up ridiculously early. I value my sleep. I love my sleep. Not much makes me wake up before I really need to but this was something exciting and fun so I dragged my bottom out of bed and onto a train. Psycle’s Canary Wharf studios are beautiful, all white with clean lines and working lockers (the amount of times lockers don’t work is shocking).

We were all given shoes, helped on our bikes and then off we went. Our instructor was Alana (as she told me, ‘Alan with an a’) a professional dancer with enough energy and good nature to power a light bulb. Her happiness was infectious. But more than that, her determination was infectious. I found myself really going for it and pushing my legs as much as I possibly could.

With the wonderful Alana

It was such a fantastic class and such a pleasure to pay Psycle a visit. I will definitely be going back!

I am delighted that you enjoyed participating in Nike’s series of #TrainTuesday events, particularly this one in partnership with Psycle. I take spinning classes at my gym but they are not quite as hip and cool as Psyle! Plus, we don’t get free sneakers!

That was definitely amazing – getting the free shoes and being able to spin in them! If only all gyms were as cool!
