So it has finally sunk in that this is happening. I am running the Lulelemon Seawheeze Half Marathon this year. And more than that it’s happening in Canada so I am going to Vancouver! I have never been there and running a race there with my wonderful family watching is going to be amazing.
When I ran the Paris full marathon in 2016 I promised myself that I wouldn’t do that to myself again. My knees hurt more than they should and I couldn’t walk properly for days. Later on in 2016 I ran a half marathon (the Royal Parks Half with Nike) and had a wonderful time. I mean a really brilliant time. I think 13.1 miles is a distance I can run comfortably without doing myself terrible damage.
I loved every step of the Royal Parks Half (even the importune loo stop) and want to feel that way again.
Also, did I mention that this is lululemon’s half marathon? I have done so much research and read so many blogs about this that I know how much they spoil their runners. I WANT TO BE SPOILT! Exclusive running shorts, cheer zones, a sunset festival, yoga – yes please to all of this!
Plus in case I haven’t said it enough, it’s in Vancouver. As in Canada. As in a holiday after running 13.1 miles along the seawall.
Once I have calmed down a little I will start planning an itinerary of everything we want to do while there. I can already see a car, a road, and some chips in my future! Or maybe that should be waffles and maple syrup?
I can see the food and the clothes and the sunshine. I can also see a lot of shopping!
I am running the SeaWheeze Half in Canada this August!
