Reviewing the new Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra

My first ever sports bra was a Shock Absorber one. I loved it and it suited my needs perfectly. However after working out more and developing muscles on my upper back, shoulders, and arms I found it really difficult to take the bra off. Enter stage left the new Ultimate Run Bra. I was so excited to try it on and do a few workouts with it. My review is below!

I don’t have large breasts and when it comes to sport’s bras I can usually wear a medium support bra and it holds everything in place. Until the Ultimate Run Bra I have never had a bra designed specifically for runners.

The Bra

When running breasts move in a figure of 8 and Shock Absorber have developed an Inifinity-8 support system which counteracts this movement. In fact the bra reduces bounce by up to 78% in comparison to running without a bra.

I have had bras which chafe in my armpit and straps which slip off my shoulders. With the Ultimate Run Bra everything stayed where it was supposed to be! The bra’s inner is soft and seamless so no chaffing for me thankfully and the straps are wide, non-slip, and adjustable. As I said, I have very inflexible shoulders and the fact that this bra has a full back opening is such a win for me.

I love the look of the bra – it’s colourful and attractive but more than skin deep with reflective tape along the cups too.

Working out

Since I was sent this bra I have run multiple times and even joined the #SportBraSquad in it whilst holidaying in Prague. I have found it comfortable and easy to put on and take off. It’s held everything in place, nothing has popped out accidentally, and it comes in some fabulous colourways meaning I always stand out (I really am not a shrinking violet when it comes to my workout clothes).

I have also done a few HIIT sessions and yoga in the bra and it’s been perfect for that too. I can really tell how effective it is when I do burpees or jumping jacks: there is so little movement and I am so grateful for that.

I love the Ultimate Run Bra. Having a bra designed specifically for runners is a revelation and I don’t think I can go back to my one bra for all sports philosophy. This one has spoilt me and given me things I didn’t know I needed or was missing.

Disclaimer: I was given the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra for free to try and review for my blog. This hasn’t influenced this review at all.
