Mistletoe and Murder is the latest in Robin Stevens’ excellent A Murder Most Unladylike series of books. The Detective Society made up of Hazel Wong and Daisy Wells are back. They are spending their Christmas holidays in Camberidge with Daisy’s older brother Bertie. When the two of them learn about a series of ‘accidents’ plaguing one of Bertie’s friends AND discover that this friend is also heir to a massive fortune he is set to inherit on Christmas day…Daisy and Hazel start to wonder if there is something more nefarious going on.
Every year I am surprised when December arrives. In fact I am always surprised when Winter arrives. Until the temperature drops and the frost sets in, it always feels like a far flung concept.; something that won’t actually happen. But it has happened! And the start of the new month means I have a new 7 Things List – the last of 2016.
If you celebrate, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. If you don’t then I hope you all had some wonderful time off and were able to spend it with people you love. In my family we celebrate Christmas in a very non-traditional sense: with huge amounts of propping up our economy and television watching. At least we do these activities together.
Christmas means presents and nothing makes me happier than new books (sportswear comes close, real close but books still own my heart). As an ebook and print book reader I spend more and get more print books than ever before – everyone who thought ebooks would kill the publishing industry are so wrong. I hope they are all eating their hats.
(All details about all the books are at the bottom of the post)
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope that whatever you’re doing, whether you celebrate the day or not, you are having a good time. My family use this time as the perfect time to spend together. All the cooking was done yesterday and so today is about games and eating and laughing.
