While I can’t run, I HIIT and when Meera (@TheCityFittie) invited me to try Another Space London’s HIIT class I was there faster than rash on a skin in winter. There were so many things about this class I was looking forward to, including but not limited to Saheed also being there, Courtney being the instructor, and that this workout required gloves because we’d be punching a bag.
Last week I went to my first ever Pilates class. Elle and Sweaty Betty had joined forces to run a Pilates class in every single one of their stores on the same day at the same time. I bought a ticket for their Selfrides boutique, location was later changed to their Kings Road store, and counted down the days. I had never done Pilates before.
Once a week I get together with some friends and we do interval training. This week we found an outdoor gym (usually occupied by very buff looking men) and we decided to make use of it. Sadly we had no idea what half of the equipment was for so spent most of the time jumping over things that were probably supposed to be crawled under, giggling, and out of breath. It was brilliant! Just having fun was the most amazing way to let the stresses of the day go. We became one with nature, or as nature as a metal gym can be. We relaxed and exercised and went back far happier than when we left.
If pictures could actually say a thousand words I think my friend’s expression at my acrobatics could tell a story.
BeFit London started the #HHHChallenge one and a half weeks’ ago with the goal of getting as many people as possible Hot, Healthy and Happy by Christmas. I love everything BeFit do and when I had the chance to join up, I did. It’s been a week and a half of a stricter diet and regular exercise and while this one its own would be dull but doable (maybe) it’s the community aspect of the whole thing that I have fallen in love with. The facebook page for this group is thriving.
I started running about eight months ago and I love it. I didn’t do much research before I started but I have learnt some things along the way, so these are my dos and don’ts for all of you out there who would like to do something more physical this year.
