For various reasons Thursday was my first run in seven days. I can’t remember if there ever has been such a long stretch of days in between runs. I did some HIT training and some weight training but my first love is running. So on Thursday I went for my first run. It was raining and damp and possibly the best thing ever.

Thursday is the new Friday so instead of posting this gratuitous shot of my arms tomorrow I am going to post it today.  I love lifting weights and am really getting into it especially when I see pictures like this and see the progress.

IMG_5860I read that title and I wish I had guns. I have arms and they have muscles but they are definitely not guns. I wish they were but wishing has never got anyone anywhere, especially not in fitness terms. So I have started lifting weights and it is starting to make a difference (I could feel that difference when I went to Lisbon and had to use public transport to get me and my suitcase to the airport) and over the weekend I went to my first weight lifting class.

I read other people’s fitness journeys and supplements and powders always feature, yet for me it somehow never seemed like something I should do, it never seemed important. This of course is complete nonsense – it is important and even though I am still learning how important, it is definitely deserves more of my time than what I have been giving it so far. photo 4 (5)Last week Nike hosted an incredible week of fitness classes and the last one was a yoga class in the stunning One Mayfair. I have never done a yoga class before and I am certainly not a yogi but for me the whole week was for trying new things and pushing my body. So of course there was no way I wouldn’t go.
