In London it’s so easy to fall in love with free stuff. I have been so lucky with some of the cool stuff I have had the opportunity to do and it’s all the more wonderful when it helps championing women’s fitness. A little while ago Adidas opened their Women’s studio in Brick Lane. They have classes ranging from HIIT to yoga to run clubs. What’s more everything is free – you sign up via Facebook Messenger and if you are lucky enough to get a spot you head to Brick Lane and have a wonderful time.
NTC is back! This season the focus is on training efficiently and using the time you have to train as effectively as possible. And what’s more, this Nike have used some of the best instructors and best studios to host the sessions. In a week classes cover Mobility, Endurance, and Strength in locations including Kobox, Frame, and Third Space.
As with almost every class Nike offers, these are free and work on a first come first served basis. Last week I was lucky enough to head to the fist Strength class at Kobox.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will see that almost every other photo I post is of me doing some sort of HIIT training at home. If you don’t follow me on Instagram then let me tell you that while running has been out I have been HIIT training my heart out. Partly to build strength in my body and partly to do something – anything – while healing. I am used to running almost every single day and when that stopped I was at a loose end.
While I can’t run, I HIIT and when Meera (@TheCityFittie) invited me to try Another Space London’s HIIT class I was there faster than rash on a skin in winter. There were so many things about this class I was looking forward to, including but not limited to Saheed also being there, Courtney being the instructor, and that this workout required gloves because we’d be punching a bag.
… in the best way possible with fitness classes on the roof! With the sky above, a gentle breeze all around and St Paul’s watching over us, the two classes I went to were brilliant. The first was WERK Hiit, led by reshape trainer at 1Rebel, Sweaty Betty ambassador, and co-founder of FoodAndLycra, Kim Ngo. The second was TotalBody, a workout created by Sweaty Betty ambassador, PT, founder of 4fitnesssake, Chiara Pellegrino. Both were different, both were high intensity, and both were brilliant.
