Last night I had the pleasure of joining Tapped Trees, Sweaty Betty, and PT extraordinaire Lydia Mok for a run, HIIT, run session. We ran to Regent’s Part where Lydia took us through a 45 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) session, and then we ran back! When I signed up for the event it sounded simple and fun. Simple it most definitely wasn’t but the fun factor was definitely there.
Nike’s Unlimited You campaign has been running throughout the Summer of Sport and the aim is to get people to reach and then break their own limits. I love this ethos and the fact that they use real athletes to help promote it. Unlimited You has already set Amsterdam aflame and over the weekend it took over London. There were two options you could choose: a Kobox class followed by a Nike Run Club run or a Barry’s Dirty Thirty treadmill session followed by a Nike Training Club workout. I went for the latter and to say that I was excited was an understatement!
I think June in London is always damp verging on wet. As soon as the words ‘Glastonbury’ and ‘Wimbledon’ are mentioned it starts to rain or drizzle or precipitate in some way or the other. But to make things a whole lot better Create Victoria, in Cardinal Place just by Victoria Station are hosting a week of amazing fitness events to celebrate the start of tennis fever and the fact they they will be screening matches live (there will be deckchairs and bars on Cardinal Place’s roof). Called Wimbledon Workout Week, I was able to go to the first three days of events – a speed session on Monday night, dance aerobics on Tuesday, yoga on Wednesday morning and a tennis-inspired HIIT session on Wednesday evening.
